You may be aware that the Queensland Parliament is conducting a parliamentary inquiry into aged care, end-of-life and palliative care and voluntary assisted dying in Queensland.
The Health, Communities, Disability Services and Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Committee is calling on the community to get involved in this landmark inquiry and have their say on these significant issues that will affect the lives of all Queenslanders – care when we age, care if we become terminally ill and having a choice where we die.
The inquiry will be looking at the care available to people dying prematurely from cancer and other terminal illnesses and also the intensive end-of-life care these people receive during the final stages of their lives.
As a leading Queensland palliative care provider, Karuna, is making a submission to this inquiry and we encourage our community and supporters to consider lodging their views too. The deadline for submissions is 15 April 2019.
For further information on the inquiry and how to log your submission please visit the Committee’s website click here.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Karuna and the important work we do in the Queensland community.
